Not everyone likes the Bunky album, but supposedly their live show is legendary in San Diego. The biggest complaint about the album seems to be the unsuccessful translation of that live experience. Now we (New York) can find out when they open for labelmate Sufjan Stevens at Bowery Ballroom on August 20th (Liz Janes also on that bill). (Tickets)
Bunky is playing one of the three shows Sufjan is headlining at Bowery. The August 21st one still hasn't been announced. The August 19th one has Smoosh & Half Handed Cloud on the bill. If you don't know who Smoosh is, then it's essential you check out this feature on NPR.
