Devendra Banhart 2005 Tour Dates | Webster Hall
Didn't someone tell Devendra Banhart that it's not cool to play Webster Hall? Did they mention it's too large for a folk singer?
Then again if Iron & Wine can pull it off, so can he.
Devendra is @ Webster Hall on October 20th, 2005. All tour dates @ More Cowbell.
Billboard says his new album on XL Recordings comes out on September 13th. It's called "Cripple Crow."
Last time I saw Devendra it was at the much smaller Tonic, and before that at Bowery Ballroom.
The New Pornographers are playing Webster Hall a few days before Devendra.
Billy Corgan just played Webster Hall (Loose Record reported that Bowie was there).
My last Webster Hall show was Bloc Party (and I liked it)

yeah I feel that this venue is far too big for Devendra but I will still be there. This is just another great concert happening this fall to make up for this lousy summer.

I saw Devendra two days ago, and it was a radically different thing then when I saw him a year ago. It wasn't really a folk show anymore, so I don't think you have to worry about the size of the venue. He played with a 5-man-band (Vetiver and three other people), and hardly played any songs from his records, focusing on new rock songs that hardly had anything at all in common with his old stuff. A good show, though.
