Dinosaur Jr. @ Summerstage, NYC | Pics

The reunited Dinosaur Jr. played Central Park Summerstage in Central Park, NYC on Thursday July 14th, 2005. It was a solid performance. Here are a few photos.

Broken Social Scene played before Dinosaur Jr. (Magik Markers & Radio 4 played before them)
Celebrities spotted in the audience: Village Voice cover-boy Michael Pitt, John Norris from MTV, (possibly) Rachel McAdams from Mean Girls, Michael Azerrad (author of Our Band Could be Your Life that has a chapter on Dinosaur Jr), and Central Village.

copy and pasted from the DJ forum:
"The show was unbelievable. Just standing in central park were a used to hang everyday as a teenager listening to Dino Jr. I don't think it sold out but was packed. The biggest crowd I have seen for Dino that I can remember. They played better than they ever had together. Really put on a show for the New Yorkers. I saw Lee Renaldo. Bummed I didn't run into some of the other people I knew would be there but still it was great. I am still in shock and awe. There was one momment J threw off his guitar, let it feed back grabbed another and kept singning that was awesome. I hope someone recorded it. ANd the DVD should just be this show."

I remember somebody saying something that, due to residents on 5th Ave. and whatnot, the limitation of the sound levels of the show couldn't go above 90 or 95 decibals, but that J's stack could get to 110!

so great. Also spotted: Thurston Moore & Kim Gordon. Someone else mentioned Lee Renaldo was around. "Just Like Heaven" made my night.

so i figured the best thing to do is offer an inside look to the demon that drives this crazy train, and tell obnoxious anecdotes about my sister, since she's not here to stop me.

there are variations on this including adding some carnation milk (my mam) or using horror of horrors margarine. but I like it this way.

did j and lou interact at all or did they stay on opposite sides of the stage? i listened from a rock and it was an amazing show.
