Gorilla Biscuits Clearly the most popular CBGB benefit show is Gorilla Biscuits on August 14th, 2005. I read on another site that there wouldn't be advanced tickets. Then there were no tickets when the other shows went on sale. Then I woke up to an inbox full of emails about this. Here are some excerpts...

"i checked ticketweb at 2:00 and there were no new cbgb benefit shows on sale. at 445 it said that Gorilla Biscuits/ Black Train Jack would go on sale at 5:00. At 5:03, all the tickets were sold out. i didnt see or hear info about this onsale time anywhere and still, 350 tickets sold out in 3 mins..."

"We totally blew it on the Gorilla Biscuits tickets."

"I refreshed every 2 seconds, literally, and nothing happened until a few minutes after 5. At 5:03 it started jumping back and forth from "Tickets Not On Sale Yet" to "No Tickets Available Through Ticketweb". I knew they'd go fast, but there was some kind of glitch in the Ticketweb process. There was never a "Buy Tickets" option, and even if everyone jumped in before me there's no reason for the site to go back and forth saying the sale hasn't started to the tickets are gone."
-------

The good news is, I'm almost positive CBGB isn't selling all the tickets for any of the shows in advance. They sell about 150 (number taken from comments on previous post) and the rest are at the door. AND, if we ask nicely, maybe Walter (and band) will play more than one show.

Ticketweb SUCKS when demand is high; it wasn't a temporary glitch, that's how Ticketweb works (doesn't work). Anyone who tried to get Beck or PJ Harvey tickets recently can tell you that. Regardless of how fast you get going, it's a crap shoot whether you succeed or not.

crap. i was under the impression that there would be no advance tix. guess i'll be waiting with everyone else at the door. a few additional shows would be nice.

If they are scrambling to raise money so they don't close wouldn't it make sense to sell some tickets in advance and make some $$$?

I'm so mad....I have a birthday party that day so this presale was my only chance of getting in. I just can't get to the city and stand in line all day. I was the one refreshing every 2 freaking seconds. I don't know of anyone who actually got tickets. I'm not convinced they even sold any.

I had 3 friends all separately get tickets, so I know TicketWeb actually sold some.

i actually got a few tickets at 5:01 . . . but i know 10 other people who didn't get through and plan on going the night before and standing on the sidewalk

I waited in line for five hours and Civ walked around getting people in and I was lucky enough to get in. One of the best nights in my life, totally worth the wait they played every song they knew and it was straight up hardcore fun

I was in line for 15 hours, and like 1 1/2 hours under the rain. Somebody had an extra entrance and I got in... Gorilla Biscuits, front row at CBGB's, holy shit, never thought that would happen. The staff at CBGB's are definitely fucked up, though.
