"Now American listeners have a chance to hear one of the year's most unexpected rock 'n' roll success stories: a nimble, playful CD that nods toward everything from indie-rock to dance music. This week the duo made a rare promotional trip to the United States, which ended with a pair of rapturously received concerts at Joe's Pub on Tuesday night. Sometime after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, they began the final encore with "La Réalité," an exuberant Afro-disco track that gives Mr. Bagayoko space to wind his guitar lines around a refrain borrowed from the eccentric reggae producer Lee Perry; from the noise in the crowd, even the two singers onstage must have known that people were dancing." Why does this have to be at the same time as the Arcade Fire in Central Park.

I was wondering about why the Theory 8 showcase has to be the same time as the Doves at Warsaw. And the Touch and Go showcase the same time as the Merge showcase. Lots of weighing of options when it comes to CMJ.

Are ticket on sale for the touch and go showcase yet?

no. I've been rabidly checking ticketmaster for them and ticketweb for the bowery showcases. Must. Get. Tix.

I know CMJ is getting closer and closer and not all of the shows and ticket info is out yet. I also want to know where and when Devendra Banhart is playing. His concerts are always a must for me.

and what about Amusement Parks on Fire?

Yeah I definetly would like to catch them as well as well as wolf parade. Who I think are going to be on the Sub Pop Showcase at Bowery on Saturday.

They are. Here's the full lineup for that showcase: Constantines, Chad VanGaalen, Holopaw, Fruit Bats, Kinski, Rogue Wave, and Wolf Parade.
