Doves, Devendra, Coheed And Cambria To Play CMJ (Updated list)
I hope Devendra doesn't play when I'm supposed to be somewhere else...
"Manchester meta-rock trio Doves, otherworldly plaintive plucker Devendra Banhart and space-prog wonder punks Coheed And Cambria are among the new names added to the growing list of performers scheduled to play CMJ Music Marathon (Sept. 14-17 in NYC). Doves are back in the states to deliver another helping of their chart-topping Some Cities, while Devendra (with Hairy Fairy) will likely be showcasing material from his upcoming Cripple Crow (XL). In other Marathon news, hip-hop is in effect as Pete Rock and Aesop Rock have been added to the performer list. Attendees should also be on the lookout for a special appearance by a reunited Cannibal Ox. To view a full list of performers and panelists, including a keynote speech by Rev Run, visit www.cmj.com/marathon."

I am really happy to hear that Devendra is going to play CMJ but like you I hope it doesn't conflict with another show also I hope perhaps it has something to do with his new record label he started and hopefully it will be at a nice small venue.

If I can catch Doves at CMJ, then there is REALLY no reason to go to the Sunday Staten Island Across the Pond show.

Devndra will be at the Virgin Mega Store in Union Square on September 13th. Time is TBD. I find this a little weird but I have a lot of love for his music and he deserve what ever sucess is coming to him.
