while this gang of four album is full of great songs played well, there is absolutely no point to it. the songs are not bettered. they aren't even changed, apart from the two from Songs of the Free -- and even those only "We Live as We Dream Alone" has some purpose (the production SUCKED on the original). Go4 can do what the want, obviously, and I guess the own the masters to this, unlike their old stuff, but there's no reason for Return the Gift to exist other than cash.
And those distortion pedals (digital?) sound like ass.

I agree with you, Bill. There's no way that they can improve on the original version of Entertainment. I think it is a perfect album. I am going to pick up the new album just to hear the 2nd disc, all of the remixes by other bands.

Re digital distortion, natural is definitely not in it. Is this because the Futureheads switched producers from Gill to Epworth, the latter being more into digital effects that sound like ass...apparently "the new sound" all the rage with the youth of today?
