The Decemberists played the KRS showcase at Luxx (now Trash) two years ago. Who are the bands to see on this bill?

I like everything I've heard from The Planet The. And the Gossip's latest song, on their myspace page, is wonderful. They give a great live show.
Of course, these two bands practically bookend the entire showcase...

I agree; make sure you you check out theplanetthe...
Also, the robot ate me (ryland) is sweet pop with dark lyrics, a must see.

i'd keep an eye on the gossip. i agree with hightower... their new song is wonderful. i'm really curious about what they have up their sleeve.

Definitely check out the Gossip, Robot Ate Me, Numbers and BARR. They're my favorites on the list. Sport Murphy and slimmoonSolo are both great spoken word artists if you're into that.

I saw Essie Jain play on the west coast recently and was floored. it's just not like anything going on right now. I would definitely check her out. Plus she's British.

damn, you lucky people....Mike Sport Murphy is playing....go and see him, I urge you. He's just amazing. Go go go go. I can't even describe his music, let's just say : Richard Thompson + Hoagy Carmichael + Dylan + Brian Wilson + Lou Reed all rolled in one. Yes, he's THAT good.
