Levy are fuckin dope. They're hardworking, honest, aggressive. James Levy writes original songs that more than transcend Chris Martin's mass-marketed mock humility. I should know -- I've cut both Chris Martin's and James Levy's hair (and I prefer to trim the follicles of the latter).

They sound nothing like Coldplay. Psych Furs meets Strokes would be a better comparison.

Comparing LEVY to Coldplay represents a shortcut to thinking more commonly exhibited by NY Post hacks. Furthermore, to the best of my knowledge, James Levy has never sucked cock, unlike Chris Martin...who I have to fight off on a regular basis.

I really like Levy, but only the most dishonest person can claim they sound NOTHING like Coldplay. Sounding like Coldplay itself is not a very good criticism unless you think they're ripping them off. Ripping off Coldplay is like stealing from thieves.

good point jason, levy are doing there own thing and i can see where people get the coldplay connection. but its almost impossible these days to listen to anything and not think of something else.

but then again, its always been that way right? when dylan came out the folk police just said he was ripping woodie guthrie.

I think given the time, levy will show us what they are about, and will far excede the coldplay strokes interpol labels they have been given. I think they have alot more going for them than any of those bands.

Hi, it's just music.

While you have the oh so important task of picking apart bands, there are bigger things going on in the world and I think it is important to focus on the positive and not the negative. There is some music for everyone, you don't like it, great, who gives a shit. I actually like Coldplay, the music is ok. They rip music of? thats fine with me because they seem like nice human beings, who are not out trying to dick everyone, and are actually trying to do somthing for the BIGGER PICTURE. I.E. the fucking world.

This is a common thread among "musicians" who often talk shit for their own, it would seem, mental penile enlargement. The fact of the matter is, people need to get off their own egos, and get on to some effing humanitarianism.

Most of the musicians who really left a legacy left the school yard antics at home in the end.

How can you people say this band doesn't sound like Coldplay? They are the EXACT same band as Coldplay! please.

I stumbled upon this while doing research for my music degree (something about the inventor of delay effects). Anyway I started reading and checked out this band that you're all talking about.

To cut a long story short, bands like this in England are every where. A bad mish-mash of mod revival, mainstream pop and psycodelia with lots of reverb and delay. These are bands who focus more on the appearance of themselves and there audience rather than creating something.

To hear what this band think they are, listen to pink floyd and speed it up a bit until you can play paul weller in time with it.

The only thing good about this band is that i don't have to listen to them! lol
