Music Bloggers for Mike "CBGB" Bloomberg

BLOOMBERG APPEALS TO THE ROCK DEMOGRAPHIC
Bloomberg for CBGB

"CBGB, it's a great New York City institution -- it's more than just another club," Bloomberg said. "We are trying to bring both sides together. ... It's part of our culture. They bring a lot of business here. I don't think they belong any place else other than New York City." [newsday]

Speaking of politics, anybody else notice the price of gas this morning? $3.39?????

Don't blame me, I voted for Kerry.

I voted for Kerry, too, but this is mainly due (at least right now) to the fact that Hurricane Katrina shut down about 40% of the nation's oil refineries (which happen to be located in Louisiana and Texas), thereby doing nothing to reduce the supply of crude oil, but adversely affecting the amount that can be refined into gasoline. Not that many other factors weren't already at play in terms of the high prices even before the Hurricane hit (the war in Iraq, the summer driving season, etc.), but I'm just saying.

Just to clarify, in my 1st sentence, I meant to convey that what I described is the reason for the currently high gas prices, not the reason(s) I voted for Kerry. I assumed readers would understand that, but I just wanted to clarify since it doesn't read that well. Sorry.

Regardless, I guess Bloc Party's "The Price of Gas" is apporpriate, huh? :-)

yeah, I know, I'm just getting really frustrated. Even my morning bagel cost me an extra $.25 today. But my wages aren't going up.

Eff Bloomberg.

How profound. Seriously, though, while I'm cynical enough to believe it's a political ploy in an election year and I do wonder why Bloomberg didn't step up to the plate sooner (though I did read or hear somewhere that he was involved a month ago), the truth of the matter is that CB's needs all the support it can get right now.

Eff the Bowery Residents Committee (sorry but for an organization that purports to help the homeless and is a non-profit, they sure are a bunch of greedy motherfuckers) and their faulty accounting is what I say.
