BROOKLYN RESPONDS TO KATRINA
JellyNYC, KEXP and Trampoline House present Brooklyn Responds: two amazing nights of music, comedy, art and auctions to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Indie rock bands and musicians from Brooklyn and afar will come together at Park Slope¹s Southpaw to raise money to help rebuild and repair the U.S.¹s devastated Gulf Coast.
Wednesday, September 21 will feature sets from Radio 4, Pela, Domino, Au Revoir Simone and Shudder to Think¹s Craig Wedren as well as comedian Aziz Ansari and DJ sets from Mark Ronson and Vito of The Rapture. Items donated by Sub Pop, Spin Art, Domino Records, Illy Espresso, D¹mai Urban Spa, Continuum Books, Joe Pernice (and more) will be auctioned and raffled off all evening.
The second night of the event, Sunday, September 25 will include The Wrens, Matthew and Ira of Nada Surf, Eiffel Tower, Sam Champion, Richard Buckner, The Harlem Shakes and a very special NYC guest. More fantastic albums, gift certificates, books, etc. will be raffled off on this date as well.
All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross, Humanity First and America¹s Second Harvest.
