No fair. Webster Hall is at least 10 times bigger than the 1st Unitarian Basement. Aarrrrgh.

I would go if it was anywhere besides Webster Hall. Sorry Jello, we know you mean well, but Webster Hall no way. It's that bad.

There are several problems with Webster Hall. Frequently, a band will announce a show at the far more intimate and acoustically superior Bowery Ballroom only to have the show moved to Webster Hall later on. This dissapointment fuels a blue-ballian resentment because Webster Hall lacks the charm and character of Bowery Ballroom.
Webster Hall also packs in the crowds to what seems like way over-capacity. If you're at a sold out show you'd better be inside on the floor before the opening act finishes, or you're screwed. At the Arcade Fire show I had to use the bathroom desperately after Man-Man and by the time I worked my back to the floor it was almost impossible to even get inside. It was PACKED all the way past the soundboard out the door.
Another problem seems to be that if you follow a band on the way up, when they make the leap to a large venue like Webster Hall, they simultaneouly begin to draw an audience filled with a larger percentage of poseurs and loud-mouth tools and want nothing more than to stand behind you and blather through the entire concert about their hedge funds, hair and shoes, all so they can brag to their "unhip" co-workers that they "saw" (not heard) a real 'under the radar band' at Webster Hall.
