Ric Ocasek playing CBGB, The Cars touring, albums

Ric Ocasek of The Cars is playing a CBGB benefit show on on September 29th, though whom it's actually benefiting is questionable since CBGB is likely on its way out and Ocasek has a solo album ("Nexterday") coming out the same week.

In related news, Ocasek won't play with his old band, so when (if) The Cars tour some time in 2006, Todd Rundgren will likely take his place on vocals.

A 'Stamps operative spotted Rick Ocasek two nights ago at the premiere of the PBS Bob Dylan documentary. His wife? Still hot.

A Cars reunion without Ocasek or the late Ben Orr? That's kinda pathetic.
