TMBG shows | Final Southpaw Katrina Benefit lineups

In addition to the two shows They Might Be Giants are playing at Northsix in Brooklyn on New Years Eve (early and late - tix on sale), they've joined the September 25th lineup at Southpaw to benefit Katrina victims.

I really hope -- and this goes for all those benefit shows -- some of those Ticketweb fees are going to the charity.

Shame on them, if they don't.

That had not occured to us, J. Absolutely goddam right. Though I heard Ticketweb is owned by Ticketmaster, which doesn't 'do' shame.

Pretty sure Ticketweb and Ticketmaster are two separate entities.

I emailed Ticketweb after buying my tickets but only got "That information has not been given to the customer service department."

I will investigate further, and report back.

i thought they were two seperate entities as well, but when you go to ticketweb's "careers" page, it eventually takes you through to ticketbastard's site.

oh, the loss of innocence.

The funny thing is, Ticketmaster bought Ticketweb five years ago. Still, it doesn't seem to be widely known. Somehow, they've managed to keep that information very close. I just paid over 30% on the service fee for $10 Okkervil River tickets. Argh!
