Wolf Parade playing Northsix, tix & stuff
Now that Wolf Parade's 9.2 rating from Pitchfork is official, and their October 24th Bowery Ballroom show is sold out, the recently added October 25th show at Northsix in Brooklyn will probably sell out quickly. (via Central Village)

i would encourage everyone NOT to buy the wolf parade lp from subpop as it has the most pathetic packaging of any cd i've ever bought. it must have cost no more than ten cents to make. no liner notes, shitty artwork, and not even a plastic cd holder on the inside. just a cardboard sleeve. what a disappointment.

Where would you rather have subpop spend its money? Developing the artists you want to hear or giving you a pretty box to look at?
This is a great label with great artists and you need to look at the bigger picture (irony accidental), no offense dude...

didn't you post the same complain on said the gramophone? and in any case, you're still wrong...there *are* liner notes, for one thing, and for another putting the CD inside the packaging like that is hardly unheard of. As Birdboy said, it's better they spend the money on artist development than on pretty packaging...
(And a little plug for my site, related to Wolf Parade: I'm giving away a few copies of the album this week, so anyone who likes it should head over!)

i spend my money to get great music. 'apologies' is the best album of 2005 (in my humble opinion), and i will gladly pay money to support the label and the band. the more of my cash going to producing their second lp the better - if i want lyrics and pictures, thats what the internet is for. buy the album, support small acts!
