Jose Gonzalez

José González is the most exciting reason to show up at the $7.00 Living Room show tonight. It's the Swedish singer-songwriter's U.S. debut (not counting the Soundfix Records instore he played on Sunday). I've been listening to his CD non-stop for the past few days. You can listen to four songs at Myspace.

"Impeccable classical guitar work sets the rhythm for González' intimate, hushed vocals. He'd fit right in with the current neu-folk folks as well as the regrettably departed parties of Nick Drake and Elliott Smith." [Download an MP3 @ 3hive]

songs:Illinois has three more MP3s from a live performance in Stockholm. (including a cover of Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart)

Love you, but you so suck for listing so late. I thought Jose Gonzalez was in Australia, and now I hear I missed him — twice! Your site is even on my rss feed, and linked on my blog, and I still missed hearing songs from Veneer LIVE?! I know it's not your fault, but I'm so disappointed I want to cry. Waaaaa!

i still want to know why you got in trouble for posting tour dates "early"... aren't you an independant source of news?

I didn't really get in "trouble". I just made a few people really upset.
