"So she wasn't spinning 'Groove Is in the Heart.' The club kids attending the We Care a Lot party on an early-summer Friday at Luke & Leroy's found her deck work deee-liteful anyway. Fifteen years after World Clique, LADY MISS KIER is back on the scene, this time as a DJ with a globe-trotting schedule. Having kicked her body- and career-wasting smack habit, the Lady is literally and figuratively larger than ever." [The Village Voice awarded Kier 'Best Low Key Comeback']

What the Voice forgot to mention, was that Kier's low key comeback is not just DJing. After giving up on Motherf*cker Friday night (Oct 28, 2005), I ended up at (the no longer in the East Village) Opaline (previously Shelter - 20 W. 39th St) where I caught a surprise (surprise to me at least) 2-song performance by Lady Miss Kier (and two backup dancers). One of the songs I heard at Wigstock. The other one I hadn't heard. So awesome.

Glad to hear she's off the smack. Met her once in '99, and she must have been down to 95lbs (that's being generous) and real weak-looking...
Hope her voice is still tops!

Girl Please, The show was amazing!
why you startin' rumors that she was a smack head?
I've known her for years and she's no smack head!

No for real she was a smack, ecstacy, acid eating, crystal snorting addict. I had seen dee lite perform three times. Once in Balitmore MD, at Emerald Forest, she was smacked out, but still love her, she rocks.
