Lou Reed joins Antony @ Carnegie Hall, NYC | pics
Lou Reed joined Antony & The Johnsons during the encore last night at Carnegie Hall (Oct 13, 2005). Lou played guitar while Antony sang Candy Says, a song written by Reed (and often performed by Antony).

It was exciting, but not quite a David Bowie or David Byrne moment because: a) Lou has performed & recorded with Antony before, and b) Lou unfortunately didn't sing.

i was so psyched to go since i scored front row center seats. antony was great, but i was severely disappointed he and lou didn't do "fistful of love" (i did get lou's guitar pic at least).
antony did a great play off of whitney houston's "i wanna dance with somebody." the appearance by little jimmy scott was very cool -- i didn't know anything about him until i heard he was guesting for antony. a nice touch.
and awesome to see carnegie hall packed for this guy.

all thanks to vegan who posted a link to the tickets wo i was able to score 5th row, left side right in front of antony.

Hello, Qbertplaya, I stood next to you as you did indeed score lou's pick, while I grabbed the set list.
Set list as written was:
My Lady Story
Daylight and the Sun
Cripple and the Starfish
Everything is New
Crackagen
Man is the Baby
For Today I am a Boy
All Is Loneliness
(Jimmy Scott: Why Was I Born, Motherless Child)
The Guests
Dead Boy (sadly, this one never happened, I've heard Antony say he's sick of singing it)
Frankenstein
I Wanna Dance With Somebody etc.
You Are My Sister
Afraid
Bird Girl
Hope There's Someone
Encore
Candy Says "LR"
Not sure where the second Jimmy Scott song came in, it's not mentioned on the set list. Second song was "What Do I Do".
And whoever wrote "It's a bad sign when Lou Reed looks much better than Antony..."
Yeah, yeah. Jesus, check yourself.
