Lou Reed & Laurie Anderson playing Canal Park Friday

“The new Canal Park at the west end of Canal St. might be a tiny sliver of green in the concrete madness that is the West Side Highway, but that doesn’t mean it’s undeserving of a hearty welcome. The new park will be dedicated on Fri., Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. to the tune of Lou Reed, the illustrious front man from Velvet Underground turned solo singer.
