In case you hadn't heard...
* The Strokes and the Decemberists are the guests at tonight's Bowery Ballroom benefit show...maybe.
* Depeche Mode are playing Bowery Ballroom later this month...maybe.

I don't claim to have inside information on the Strokes/Decemberists one. All I can say is that someone first told me the rumor last week and since then multiple random people have asked me about it. My point of view is I'd go to the show anyway - any special guest is just a bonus. That said, The Decemberists are in town to play Webster Hall tomorrow, and the Strokes seem to be gearing up the hype machine in preparation for a new album. I guess we'll know in a few hours...

Was Wooden Wand really such a special that he/they couldn't be announced with the rest of the bill? Who is Wooden Wand anyway? The Decemberists made sense on that bill, but The Strokes, they would probably get booed.
