MERLIN BRONQUES

"Appealing to the exhibitionism of its subjects and the voyeurism of its audience, the Web site attracts over 20,000 viewers a day, many hoping to catch a glimpse of themselves in some provocative pose, others to see how the other half lives. According to references in Web logs, the site attracts viewers from Georgia and Colorado, North Carolina and Italy, and other places far from the bicoastal club scene." [NY TIMES]

Ugh, so sad that a "respected" newspaper like the NYT is giving space to all of these wastes of pop culture.
But I'm actually surprised that Merlin admitted to having the "erotic" picture site... in most of his interviews, he denies having it.

Uh, anonymous... why yes, I think that I have read the Grey Lady once or twice in my lifetime *wink*
And the quotes are SARCASM.
As a freelance writer for a number of magazines and papers-- and as a casual observer of the staff and focus changes at the paper-- I'm coming from the POV that the NYT has gone thru a massive overhaul in order to draw in a new audience... to put it lightly, it's not the same paper I grew up with here in NYC.
But hey... I still read it on the regular. At least they haven't done a story on the Cobradouche yet.
Yet.

Is Last Night Party a club? Whens it open is it like a one month thing? Or is it open every weekend? Is it just teens or teens and adults? Do they offer under aged kids drinks?
