Wall Street Rising Concert Ticket Update
Free tickets for the Wall Street Rising Concert Series became available this morning at 11AM. I just ran over there. The line was wrapped around multiple blocks - most likely multiple hours long. I turned right around. Oh well.

I just spoke at 12:30 to a woman at the front of the line, she said she had been there since 10AM. Standing in line for hours, to maybe get the show you want, sure doesn't sound free to me. I will wait until these tickets show up on Craigslist for $15 or so and get them there.
Standing in line for tickets is just so 1977.

Yeah, that line was terrible. I didn't get tickets.

3 hours for two free Jeff Tweedy shows was definitely worth it for me.
and good luck getting one for 15 bucks.

im 25 and just feel like i have too much other stuff to do than wait on that line...i got there at 10, went around the block 3x and took the 2 to my office.
i saw ryan adams at fez back in 2001 and tweedy at irving plaza solo that same year i think...cat power sucks live...saw her at battery park in 2003...

I don't get it... who's drawing this crowd? Are The Smiths going to perform with Michael Jackson or something?

no chance you find a 15$ ticket for that show

have faith in humanity. there will be at least one kind craigslister "selling" their ticket at the last minute for what s/he paid - nothing.

I just got back from standing in line for 2 AND A HALF HOURS only to find that both Jeff Tweedy shows and the Ryan Adams show were sold out, though as of an hour ago, there were still tickets left for the others. I hope everyone who wanted them was able to get tickets. Good luck everyone!

Buddy Guy is one of the greatest acts I've ever seen live -- though I haven't seen him for almost a decade. Hopefully after all the hip acts are gone, I'll still be able to sneak in and see him. HIS was the name that jumped out on that concert listing.

i waited 3.5 hours but i got what i wanted (tweedy/BBOA + cat power). half the experience is getting the tickets. internet ticket sales have made us all L-A-Z-Y.

I can the point that those of you waiting for Jeff Tweedy are making, that's a special rare event. For the other shows, however, they tour often and are readily available. As I am interested in Ricki Lee Jones, I didn't see the point of waiting for so long. And I do think I will be getting access to her tickets for far less than the Jeff Tweedy and Ryan Adams tickets will go for...
I think they should separate the lines based on who you want to see, that way the lesser-demand tickets can be more available to those not needing the high-demand items.

UPDATE: just went back; nobody in line anymore; tickets were still available as of 15 minutes ago for 2 shows, Ricki Lee Jones and Buddy Guy.
So I got my Ricki tickets w/o waiting in line after all...
Thanks BV!

I waited in line for a few hours, picked up a pair for Tweedy and Ryan Adams. Don't really understand how so many people can complain about a line, the tickets were free and the theater is a tiny little 900 seater.

From a poor college students point of view, I can sacrifice my time by waiting in line for 2 hours for free tickets to Ryan Adams and Jeff Tweedy. That probably saved me a good 100 dollars+.

I can certainly respect that. I am in a different life stage so am sometimes not attentive to the situation you guys are in, although not purposely. Congratulations on getting the tickets.
