you ever clean up your dog's shit?
do that 365 days a year, then pay for vet food, toys, and make sure you are home every night and have a place for him/her to stay in case you ever want a vacation and then tell me how horrible it is to dress them in a costume for a few hours one day a year. They owe us. Stop being so goddamn soft.
