I can agree with most of those picks but not all.

First of all, where is Broken Social Scene? It was one of the best albums of the year and even though it wasn't You Forgot It In People (which almost nothing is), it was still an amazing record for any band to put out. And it's usually a big critic favorite.

Second and last, Z is a way-overrated record and really bores everyone i've heard listen to it.

Anyone else agree with this?

The editors' picks in the subcategories seem to be in no particular order. Am I wrong?

Also, no Wolf Parade? Has it not had enough time to sink in?

The New Pornographers' Twin Cinema is the third best album of the year, yet it gets no mention in the genre-specific top tens. Weird.

Also, anyone else notice how almost all of the readers' picks (at least in "alt-rock") came out last year?

funny that MMJ's Z is "copy-protected" given they are pretty taper-friendly, as far as i knew.

Seems like Amazon's customers spend their time at Starbucks while Amazon's editors prefer that funky coffee shop down the street.
