It's too bad I will be at Jeff Tweedy both nights. I am somewhat interested to sdee this band since they claim that they will bigger than Oasis.

brooklyn vegan, you are the best. you improve my life on a near-daily basis. now i get to see the arctic monkeys. given the opportunity, i would buy you many beers.

I'm usually not a hater when it comes to British imports, but these guys are terrible. I don't understand why they are getting soooo much press/hype.

The Modern Age's favorite band, and BV's least favorite band Surefire are opening

arctic monkeys are shite!

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2005 3:29 PM

Why are Surefire BV's least favourite band?
I quite like them.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2005 4:25 PM

Surefire are not my least favorite band. I've never even seem them live.

This is not the first time an anonymous commenter accused me of hating/ignoring this band. In the past they've gone as far as accusing of being a bad person for not posting about Surefire. True or not, I always assume these commenters/emailers are band members/family/publicists/friends/management/whatever. In turn, I get turned off to the band completely. Any interest I had gets lost.

That said, I look forward to checking out Surefire for the first time at the Arctic Monkeys show.

on arctic monkeys website it says both show are at bowery, but on ticketweb.com it only has one show at bowery... does anyone know is the other show being switched to bowery as well?

Posted by Anonymous | November 6, 2005 1:10 AM

BV, you do not post about Surefire. you are a bad person.

Posted by anonymous | November 6, 2005 3:25 AM

too bad surefire is a fucking joke

Posted by daniel | November 6, 2005 4:31 AM

i was simply making a joke about how two blogs post the same story with different angles, and how people make fun of the modern age for posting about friends, and people make fun of BV for not posting about surefire... didn't mean to cause all this controversy. my apologies BV.

probably the best live band (t'Artics, that is) I've seen in a very long time (& I've seen a fair few not bad ones...). Funky tunes, witty lyrics, no hype, only people hearing them play & spreading the word. Enjoy, if you're lucky enough to be going...

i can't help but notice that bowery's calendar is still open on tuesday. anyone heard anything about the show being moved from mercury?

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2005 3:01 AM

i dont think they're going to move the tuesday show to bowery. on arctic monkeys website they changed tuesday back to mercury, and some guy on the message board said he had called the box office and they said it wasnt moving

Posted by d | November 10, 2005 10:54 PM

more bowery tickets were just released.....act fast

Posted by pete | November 14, 2005 3:09 PM

anyone know what time the monkeys will be taking the stage? i'm hoping to hit up tweedy beforehand.

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2005 11:13 PM

probably aroung eleven (the first act usually comes on one hour after the doors). tweedy's been playing really long sets for this tour, so you're probably not gonna make it, unless you leave early.
