Gob Roberts (Tim Robbins) @ Sin-e, NYC | pics by Neuman

Gob Roberts - Tim Robbins @ Sin-e

Susan Sarandon, Mike Myers (also spotted recently eating at Angelica Kitchen), and Mike Neuman were all at Sin-e last night (Nov 9, 2005) checking out Tim Robbins' band Gob Roberts. Mike said the music was classic rock meets Dead Kennedys and they covered an X song. He took these photos.

a piece of shit? for covering an X song? Or because you disagree with him politically person-who-didn't-leave-their-name-while-insulting-someone?

I think X will be covering a Gob Roberts song when they come to town soon.

Will they then too be POS's?

I was there from about 7:15-8:00, at which point I had to leave and they hadn't gone on yet. What time did they eventually start?

I was sitting a few bar stools away from Tim, still trying to decide if that was worth the $8 cover.

Posted by Deif | November 10, 2005 2:06 PM

I guess they started at around 8:10.

40 minutes late. awesome.

and the guy at the door told me that they MIGHT go on about 5 minutes late.

I guess they were on celeb time last night. I didn't see Sarandon while I was there so maybe they were waiting for her to get there.

I also saw them open for Pearl Jam on the Vote For Change tour. I was not impressed at all, but I don't think I was supposed to be anyway. He came out in a wheel chair and then he was "hit by a spirit" and jumped up and started playing. He came out during PJ's set to play the 'X' song. I thought it was a goof to see Tim Robbins perform. It was amusing, at best.

I went, it was very cool indeed to see someone who's both passionate about what they're doing and has a degree of humility as well. More than I can say for some people. Susan was wearing SWEATPANTS, which further indicates how much she and Tim rule.

Why bash these guys? Go out and find some real people to hate.

Both he and his wife are ignorant sluts. Prechy little bitches the two of htem and they should stay ou tof music venues denying slots to actual musicians and other relevant non-millionaires. They memorize words for a living and then proceed to lecture others on how things ought to be. Why defend these millionaires? DO you think they give a shit about you?

Find some real people to hate? Who would defend this douch and his loud mouth wife? They truly refelect the punk values of the songs Gob Roberrts raped from their Malibu compound. Defend these people? You must be running out of causes.

Please BV., do not waste your and our time covering this waste. There are indie, ex-indie, and unsigned real bands, who are far more deserving of the space on your page than this twat.

Prechy?? Do you mean preachy?

Regardless of all of this, was it at least good music?

Hrmm... Just got an update from some friends who are involved with Sin-e, but will remain anonymous. The reason for such a late show start was due to the fact that Susan Sarandon wasn't on the guest list. They let her in for free anyway because "no reason to get involved with domestic drama," says my source.

Shocking.

Posted by Chris | November 12, 2005 5:09 PM

I'm shocked.

Yo, get out of the house and see the world. Do you cry when they eat at a resturant because they took a sandwich that a musician could have eaten? Waaah, so your band could not get booked anywhere because you stink... Look...No one expects them to be good musicians dish wad. Move on. George Bush needs you.

We need more pearl jam coverage.
