Super Furry Animals & Sinead O'Connor Cancel WH shows
Sunday's (November 6) Super Furry Animals show has been cancelled. It's possible that Sunday tickets are good at Saturday's show. Refunds will be given by Ticketweb. (thx Drew)
Sinead O'Connor's December 8th show at Webster Hall was also cancelled. "All tickets for Dec 8 will be honored at the door Fri, Dec. 9." Considering ALL December 8th tickets can be honored at the still-not-sold-out December 9th show, it seems unlikely the real reason for cancellation was "due to scheduling."
Both of these artists booked two nights in a row at Webster Hall. Did they overestimate demand? Tickets too expensive? ($50 to see Sinead)

Sinead fans might not be too thrilled with her new reggae album.

I think it's definitely a case of overestimating demand. The last time SFA played in NYC, I think they played a single show at Irving Plaza (which is about the same size as Webster Hall). Regardless, I'm glad that I got tickets for the Saturday show. I was worried there for a minute when I saw the headline before I read the article.
I hate to beat a dead horse, but I still wish that they would've played 2 shows at Bowery Ballroom instead.

It was Webster last time too. I was there. I was also at first worried then glad that I have tix for Sat, considering I have Spoon tix for Sun and would be screwed if it was the other way around.

I think the last SFA show in New York was one night at Webster Hall (March '04?). I was (also) kinda hoping they would "relocate" one or both of this weekend's Webster Hall gigs to the Bowery Ballroom, if the ticket sales lacked.
Well, the band now has a free day. Maybe they'll play a small impromptu gig somewhere else. Or check out the WFMU record fair. Or don their furry outfits and join the NYC marathon.

"Or don their furry outfits and join the NYC marathon." - excellent idea!

Yeah, they played 1 night at Webster Hall in 2004 last time they were here, and before that, they played 2 nights at Irving Plaza, but that was 'co-headlining'(opening up for) Grandaddy...it's a shame they cancelled 1 of their shows. They deserve to be a lot bigger here....

Did anyone go to the Go! Team? I hear it was horrible. How full was it? They could have done multiple Bowery shows and sold them out.

I got tickets to the Sunday show, but ticketweb emailed me and said the tickets would be good for Saturday's show. Phew.

Hi I just got an email from the Electric Factory dated 5:11 pm today that tonight's Sinead show in Philly is cancelled. Electric Factory holds about 3500. They must have known before tonight that it wasn't nearly sold out though, eh? Why the very-late cancellation?
