The Life Aquatic - Seu Jorge Bowie Covers CD

The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions featuring Seu Jorge I picked up a copy of "The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions Featuring Seu Jorge" today. If you saw The Life Aquatic, heard the Life Aquatic soundtrack, or read one of my old Seu Jorge posts, you probably already realize that this CD contains acoustic David Bowie cover songs in Portuguese. There are 14 songs to be exact, and I didn't realize until after I bought it that the iTunes version has a bonus track. A few of the songs are on the regular LA soundtrack too.

no disrespect, but listening to Life On Mars I expected his voice to be better, and in tune. the songs are obviously very strong, but the recordings sound a little amateuristic. like cute home made demos. i had imagined them a little more jose gonzalez

I saw him play at an outdoor concert this summer with a 5 or 6-piece band. Did not forsee myself enjoying samba music; and though some friends I was with were kinda bummed out there were no Bowie covers, I thought it was pretty awesome.

Seu Jorge is horrendous, if you understand portuguese. I don´t understand all the hype over a guy that wouldn´t make a living singing in a subway station. Ok, he is a good actor ("City of God").

I knew before going to see The Life Aquatic that it was full of David Bowie songs. My sister is a huge Bowie fan, so I kept that fact secret from her so I could see her reaction when she heard all the Bowie tunes in Portuguese. Anyhow, she was quite surprised and enjoyed the covers.
