The National vs. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah | Indie Rock Showdown
This is so perfect. So many times I started writing a post about my disgust at the battle between indie rock fans related to the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah / National tour. Blog after blog after music site, even Pitchfork, touched on the same theme: CYHSY are the opener on the National's tour and people left after the opener and those people are freakin stupid because the National rule and maybe even CYHSY suck and on and on. I was going to compare the whole mess to sports. I never did it, partially because I didn't want to add more noise in particular to the "people leaving early for the National" part of it.
