it's like win butler's microphone was off.
bono sounded very ian curtis-ish.
and he did give regine's boots a funny look at the end of that video :-)

to think of the power in the neck muscles that have to hold up Bono's ever-expanding head. It's awe inspiring.

this pairing makes me sad.

that is a great song covered very poorly. rattle and hum.

Slightly disappointing after waiting 3 hours for the upload.

i was actually in montreal last weekend and caught the arcade fire/u2 show saturday night.

it was pretty amazing. i have never heard such a loud crowd, it was deafening. arcade fire played their songs well but they acted kinda like lunatics. at one point, the percussionist guy ran around the catwalk and fell down. it was pretty funny.

u2 really are an amazing band. i know they aren't really "cool" anymore (whatever) but they pulled out "i will follow" and i practically wet my pants.

in the montreal paper, that band "we are wolves" was quoted saying how they thought u2 was generic and crappy. that actually kinda pissed me off. u2's records have been a soundtrack for my whole life. look, i know "vertigo" is no "sunday bloody sunday" but they are certainly holding up better than a lot of other bands have for 20+ years (see REM or Rolling Stones for evidence of that.)

this is what i feared the new order show at hammerstein might have been - fortunately it wasn't. there should be laws against this kind of thing.

yeah, i'm not a fan of U2 by no means...and this pairing really makes me sad as well

classic song
+
one overrated, ho-hum band
+
one gone-to-seed band (General Bono has no business appraising those boots)
+
one knee-jerk crowd (ooh, another famous rock star likes arcade fire enough to go onstage with them, and they love Joy Division - THEY REALLY ARE THE BEST BAND IN THE UNIVERSE!)
=
gigantic exasperated groan.

u lot arwe a bunch of cunts bono is jsut the fuckin bollocks. simple as that. u2 are the greatest band besides the beatles and always will be, u just listen to ure shiotty indie music and dont appreicatr anything decent i like arcade fire by alot of means but u probably wouldnt know of them as of half of there fan base wouldnt if it wasnt for u2 bringing them out to 100,000 people each night rather thn 200 people which they were continuosly playing to. fukin pricks u2 are just too good it makes me sick.

Man, I can't stand all this u2-bashing. Are you really going to wait for Pitchfork to tell you U2 is one of the greatest bands ever, or would it kill you to listen to some of their albums before blasting them? So what, they're good at being popular and Bono is busy doing all these lame things like charities....get over it...that doesn't make albums like Boy, War, UF, Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby or Zooropa anything less than absolutely amazing albums.

All you indie elitists need to get over yourself and accept the fact that a band can have more than a few thousand fans and still be good. And in U2's case, great.

In summary, get your head out of your ass.

I've managed to save up roughly $32645 in my bank account, but I'm not sure if I should buy a house or not. Do you think the market is stable or do you think that home prices will decrease by a lot?
