The Great Escape

The two times I've seen We are Scientists have been strange free shows. First was the FADER Lounge show during CMJ. Then there was this one (Friday, November 18, 2005). It was some kind of industry something (not sure exactly). I wish I knew the details earlier because I'm pretty sure they were selling tickets at the door, and it wasn't very packed inside.

Chart Attack says they're more than just one beard wonders.

They played @ Starland Ballroom in Jersey the night before (opening for Hot Hot Heat & The Redwells) and were crazy good.
Chris from WAS told me they are headlining Bowery Ballroom the second week of January.

Rare and W.A.S. share the same PR agency and this was one of their nights off from the tour, and they happened to be going through New York to rest anyway. They went on early because it was free and I think those that paid didn't get in by then.

this has nothing to do with we are scientists, but i felt compelled to post and say that i just listened to the new system of a down, hypnotize, (i think it comes out tomorrow) and it is by far and away the greatest album of the past few years...absolutely mind-blowingly stunning. i wish i somehow could get into their webster hall show tomorrow night.
