i'd have to agree somewhere in the middle of Popmatters and the Guardian.
easily his weakest effort of '05, and quite possibly his most dull solo record to date.
not to say it's BAD, it's just not very interesting or memorable either, save for possibly 2 tracks at most.
and i'm as big of Ryan fanboy as they come.
