Wilderness played & will play again @ Pianos
I have yet to see Wilderness play live. That includes missing both of their opening sets for Explosions in the Sky @ Bowery Ballroom. It looks like my next chance is at Pianos on January 12th, 2006 with Lolita Bras and "very special guests".. It doesn't look like tickets are on sale yet, or any other dates have been announced.

Despite Mike's review (posted on my site) of their set opening for Explosions in the Sky I plan to go check them out again at Piano's. I enjoyed them at Mercury Lounge in August...or was that just the beer listening? We shall see soon.

I went to the Explosions In The Sky show early to catch Wilderness, on a friends recommendation. I never heard a lick, nor was I aware of the solid pitchfork rating they received (8.5). I absolutely loved their set. The lead singers slow motion body movements and delivery are on point and from what I understood, his lyrics were solid as well. I heard some people say that his voice was getting annoying , but I was not bothered at all. I can't wait to catch them again!

i dug their album lots...saw them at scenic for cmj and after 2 songs was incredibly bored. the singer has some new age shit going on that rubs me the wrong way.
perfect tour for them with explosions...im surprised explosions was willing to take a band that might overkill the sound.
