H.R. doesn't have it anymore. John is the only man out there who can bring the real Brains energy to the table. I think I will be trekking out for this.
I randomly saw the ticketweb listing got 2 tix and now they are all gone...
I have waited over 20 years to see the Bad Brains- I missed them in LA back in the days and I'm stoked to see them- its okay to have a friend front them if HR is too stoned...
i guess blodclot's dream has finally come true..LOL i winder who;s idea was it for hin to sing.. iguess daryl and earl are need of some $$$$.. whats next hr singing for cro mags??
Damn....this is kinda out of the blue eh, fellas? I guess this tour has been started. I last saw the Brains back in 95 during the 'God of Love' tour in Boston. and in 92 with Isreal joseph (opening for Living Colour) It was gearing up to be my all time fav show but all of a sudden HR decides to wrap it up after 8 songs. Oh well! I still love the band, always will. I'm not sure of the details of the show but i have a feeling HR will be there with John Joseph carrying things along. It sounds like a passing of the torch thing. HR is not the same HR of old. He's no longer that ferocious, backflippin' guy that could spit fire. Did anyone see the footage of him at central park last year? he looked like he had been fasting. In the pic with the band Leeway he looks ok though. So we'll see...whatever it is it's too damn interesting to pass up. I've been in NYC for 8 months. how fitting that i'm in the town where cgbg's at w/ Bad Brains in the line up for two dates. againj it's not the same as say 1980's but i'm interestd in being there for some reason. I've been a fan since 1990 so y'know i'll be there with fuckin' bells on.....

This won't be the first time John Joseph sang for the Bad Brains...he used to be their roadie back in their early days and has filled in for the ever-crazy HR in the past

I am in desperate need of some kind sole with extra tickets for either night of the upcoming CBGB's shows. I am ready and willing to provide substantial compensation.
I am serious about the Brains and have yet to experience CBGB's. Also Ensign who is playing on Firday is one of my favorite bands too, these shows will be epic and I hope some fellow keepers of the PMA may be able to help me share this experience.
For all of those who are dying to get extra tickets; I say don't waste your time...growing up and being turned on to both the Mags & Brains, was the time to have jumped into the Soul Craft. Bloodclot used to me great and so did H.R. Even a certain amount of his reggae releases were good. But, as some have already alluded to or stated; neither are what they used to be. they just will never be the same. N.Y.C.H. may reside in the hearts of those who followed, and still stick w/ and enjoy the good ole' days. It is as shame, it will be like going to see the Rolling Stones now as opposed to way back then.
Many may have missed the boat unfortunately age-wise; but it is nice to know that they still live on. But that was the past... Just make sure if you are going, to tread lightly...one never knows what kind of young, punk,Bonehead group may show up to ruin it even before the taped together band does. back in the day, particularly at C.B.'s, they showed up in mass just to fuck with H.R.
Alas, most likely you who are younger will end up packed like the good sardines and only encounter pousers and wanna-be punks. prob. will look more like a Dave Matthews show than a boot party!
I went to this show (ok, both of them) and it was truly horrible. They just really ruined classic songs. Joseph's voice just didn't fit with the brains material and it was weird to see him fronting them. The opening bands were actually better, Hell Joan Jett was better.
my friend and i saw the band brains in the beginning i would say either 1981 or 1982....they were doing a show with the bush tetras at roseland i believe....kids were diving off the stage we had never seen anything like it before...some kid landed on us we flew on the floor 5 people rows back...looked at each other and said this is excellent...and were hooked on hardcore every weekend in nyc after that....wow...what fire fury and power they had back then....
nice...just bought myself a ticket for this show. i've never once been to a cb's gig, so this seems oddly appropriate.

Anyone know if HR is playing with the band or is it just John Joseph? Thanks.
