Anyone know seating arrangements at the Nokia? I bought tix that seem to indicate seating, but there were not specifically assigned seats. Just general/first-come seating? Thx in advance for the info.

anybody go last night? was there an opener (before the new pornographers)? what time did it all begin?

New Pornographers came on at 8:25 (the show was supposed to begin at 8:30, but you know how prompt and polite those Canadians can be...). Great set, by the way. Neko Case and Dan Bejar weren't with the band, as expected, but if anything, their absence helped focus NP's attack, which has become increasingly sharp. Kurt Dahle's drumming could make Air Supply rock. If you're going to see B&S tonight, or at one of the other tour stops, make sure you get there in time for NP.

The show was fantastic! I never pegged Stuart Murdoch for a stage diver. But what was the deal with that clearly fake band "A Matter of Trust?" It was hilarious but I felt like I was only getting half of an inside joke.

Whoever "A Matter of Trust" were, they came on right after TNP. But I'd say get there a little before 8:30 anyway because the lines for checking coats and getting drinks were really long.

The "fake band" was Todd Barry, Jon Benjamin, Jonathan Glazer and the guy from Yo La Tengo. If anyone went to the Invite Them Up DVD release show/party at the Bowery a while back, they did the same act. They performed "A Matter of Trust." This time they said they were from Germany and had met the NPs in Switzerland. It was pretty silly, but I'd already seen them do the act before.

The New Pornographers were clearing their gear while the band was performing.

Belle & Sebastian went on at 10:00pm and played until about 11:50pm.

Hey Qbertplaya, I couldn't agree more about Kurt Dahle's drumming skills...I went to high school with him and he's always been very talented.

In response to your comment about Kurt's drumming making Air Supply rock, I'd like to encourage one and all to check out my own band, The Stupid Good Lookings, who *DO* make Air Supply ROCK, literally!
