Good news for Editors fans | Show moved to Hiro

"...I was just informed that Editors are now playing their Saturday night show at Hiro (at the Maritime Hotel - 9th Ave & 16th Street). Apparently, they are too big for The Annex. The afterparty will be at Tiswas at the Annex..." [This Twilight Garden]

Good news for those without tickets.

Hiro's cool and all but half the reason I was going was to check out the Annex, see the band in a small room, and stay in my neighborhood.

Posted by Nineteen-ninety-never | January 19, 2006 9:33 AM

BAH! are they too big for the annex or is the annex simply still not ready?

Posted by javier buchananeversonia | January 19, 2006 10:05 AM

I assume they'll release more tickets - maybe only at the door. I'll find out.

javier, It says the afterparty is still at the Annex.

hey bv - do you know if the strokes show announced yesterday indicates that they're NOT doing a secret "club" show in NYC before the European tour?

Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2006 10:30 AM

Do they plan on e-mailing ticket holders about this because I have yet to receive an e-mail from them.

Posted by Bao | January 19, 2006 10:40 AM

no clue on the strokes.

tickets for Editors @ Hiro on sale shortly. I'll post as soon as I hear.

As far as getting an email from them, I'm sure they will. (This post came before they had a chance)

This is the second time in two days then that Blogs have beat official Email announcements. Email's freaking obsolete.

Posted by jerry | January 19, 2006 11:07 AM

have beaten

Posted by jerry | January 19, 2006 11:09 AM

Fuck that shit, I'm with "Nineteen-ninety-never" I had a whole night planned involving being in that neighborhood, now TWO DAYS before the show they decide to move it, just so they can sell more tickets and make some more money. I was curious to check out the editors and the new space, now I'm just annoyed. I wish i had gotten pshysical tickets instead of will call, at least then i could get rid of them and make some money on the deal.

The Editors should go flush their Joy Division records down the toilet and go fuck themselves.

so, editors are playing on 9th avenue and then peter hook is on ludlow? BAH!

Posted by javier buchananeversonia | January 19, 2006 1:23 PM

I wouldn't be so quick to jump the gun on going to Hiro. Just got this in an email from Tiswas (in response to my question re: where Hook would be playing):

Both the Editors and Peter Hook are at the Annex now -- we have had the rug pulled out from under us at Hiro.
Stay tuned;

I am having the same headache now as I had when they kept moving the Franz Ferdinand show at Volume from the Warsaw back to Volume.

Posted by Bao | January 19, 2006 2:27 PM

They should really go fuck themselves.

Posted by Editors Are Stupid Anuses | January 19, 2006 2:35 PM

nightmare...

I'm getting the official word any second, but it seems they did just lose Hiro.

Posted by brooklynvegan | January 19, 2006 3:02 PM

you guys, it's still at the Annex.

Posted by laura | January 19, 2006 3:10 PM

soooo... they just oversold the annex? fucking brilliant.

Posted by jerry | January 19, 2006 3:43 PM

Don't worry everyone. There'll be another band that sounds exactly the same in another week or two.

Always fun watching people trip and fall as they run after the G train.

Posted by J | January 19, 2006 4:08 PM

Ha ha ha, J. And that band is called Clearlake.

Posted by musicsnobbery | January 19, 2006 4:21 PM

Just talked to the PROMOTER at HIRO and the venue is closed this weekend. NO Editors show at HIRO now! She is taking emails for the updated location.
I JUST SPOKE TO HER: THURSDAY @ 5:04

Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2006 5:04 PM

guess the annex wasn't ready after all ;>)
