Isobel Cambell | Tour (tix) & an album w/ Mark Lanegan

Isobel Campbell used to be in Belle & Sebastian. She's about to go on her first ever tour of the US as a solo artist. On March 7th, she's releasing “Ballad of the Broken Seas” - a collaboration with the Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age howler Mark Lanegan.

NOTE: tickets still on sale for her show at Joe's Pub show. (and the Southpaw one).

Joining her on tour will be: Eugene Kelly - member of the legendary Vaselines, Eugenius and Captain America, on vocals and guitar, Jim McCulloch of The Groovy Little Numbers and Soup Dragons on guitar and vocals, along with sometime Teenage Fanclub member Dave McGowan (on everything from bass and keyboards to lap steel) and Dave Gormley on drums. In addition to songs from her back catalog, and a few covers, she'll be playing songs from her forthcoming album with Mark. Mark won't be there though (at least not announced).

There's also a Toronto date on March 4th at Revival, and the date is part of the Canadian Music Week ( http://www.cmw.net ) festival...although she's not Canadian. ;-)

Yep, already got tix for the Southpaw show; it should be a good one...

I love Isobel, but this material is all wrong for her. Check it out before you bother committing to one of the shows. The new material is not like B&S (nothing wrong with growing as an artist) but sadly, sounds all wrong for her and isn't as appealing as her previous solo effort, Amorino.
