Tapes 'n Tapes @ Pianos, NYC | pics

Two nights in a row of Tapes 'n Tapes...

Tapes n Tapes @ Pianos

Their second of four NYC gigs was at Pianos Sunday night (January 8, 2006). I wasn't sure if I was gonna see them two nights in a row, but with the Voodoo EROS shindig only a block away, I didn't really have an excuse not to. I'm so happy I did. Maybe it was the superior sound system or the band's energy level or the set list (they played Omaha [MP3] this time).... Whatever it was, this show blew the Delancey one out of the water. It was SO GOOD.

Best. Show. Ever.

not really, but one of the best sets i've seen in quite some time. the difference between the delancey show and pianos set, was thedifference between night and day.

the sound was awesome and clear. the band seemed a lot more relaxed, and the energy was through the roof. saturday i was thinking that this band has all the elements to one day be awesome...tonight the band proved that they are up there with the best current indie acts.

eugene miriam's brief but hilarious set before, was a welcome surprise.
