Voodoo-EROS Store Opening, NYC | pics
Cocorosie & crew, and at least one member of Le Tigre, were in attendance at the Voodoo-EROS store opening party in the Lower East Side of Manhattan Sunday night (January 8, 2006). Nomi was supposed to perform, but I had no idea when, and it wasn't the kind of party you wanted to stay at for long (in other words, I missed her).
The store is really small, and I'm not sure exactly what they sell. That might be because it was way overcrowded. People were pouring out on to the sidewalk. The food being served inside added tremendously to the tight squeeze.
I'm not really sure what the store is called. The sign above the door reads "Art Fiend Foundation".

It's set to open proper in February and will be selling various musics from Voodoo Eros and their extended family of artists and musicians, handmade clothing and lots of other desirable commodities. I'll wear the dunce cap for missing soul strutter Nomi's in-store set, but I got my fill of the delectable buttermilk coated fried tofu and coconut grits that they were serving at the party, so it was all good.
