Finally, an ultra-hip neo-wave band my war-nut stepdad can get into! London's White Rose Movement (named for the German non-violent Nazi resistance group during WWII) were praised on this site for their debut single, "Love Is a Number", produced by contemporary dance-punk guru Paul "Phones" Epworth and snagged a comfy No. 40 slot on our Top Singles of 2005 list.

The band's debut LP, Kick, comes out on Independiente in the UK on March 6, with another single, "Girls in the Back" acting as pace car come February 27.

In anticipation of even bigger hype, WRM have scheduled a hefty UK tour with the Rakes, followed by a sold-out date at London's Hammersmith Apollo with them Strokes fellas (we hear they're big in England). They'll follow that up with a UK headlining tour of their own.

White Rose Movement cancelled a handful of US dates in mid-January, but they are scheduled to appear at the SXSW festival in Austin come March, and are promising a brief US tour after that. So far, only the LA and NYC dates have been confirmed.
