Amina, Sigur Ros, Without Gravity | Iceland in NYC
"Icelandic music hit the international scene with The Sugarcubes in the eighties, followed by Björk’s solo takeover in the nineties, and, in the last decade, several bands and solo acts have followed suit. Sigur Rós, Múm, Bang Gang, Mugison, Minus and Slowblow are a few of the more recent names, and there are even more unpronounceable ones to look forward to in the coming years. Because of Iceland’s explosive impact on the US, The Icelandic Consulate is bringing its gifts of Music and Film to the City of New York."

The four dashing boyz of Sigur Rós will be joined by the four fetching ladies of Amina for all dates on the American portion of this tour. We trust Friends-esque rom-antics will ensue.
Amina will open with their own ghostly material and then assume string quartet formation to back the victory rose. The foursome are presently putting the wraps on their debut full-length, tentatively due out mid-2006 via The Worker's Institute record label.
