I heard you need to show a receipt proving you bought their cd at Virgin on the release date. Can anyone confirm this? (Of course, I did buy the album at Virgin on the day it was released and threw away the receipt, not knowing I'd need it later....nuts).

According to my sources, this is indeed true. Sorry to disappoint you.

Since they are playing that night at Nokia, just throw the CD onto the stage and I'm sure they'll sign it between songs.

I bet the Virgin store would give you a duplicate copy of your receipt if you went to the location and asked them, esp. if you paid by credit card.

thanks guys. I'll probably just try to stalk them after the show (I doubt I can make it to Virgin by 6pm anyway). Can't wait for the Nokia shows. Their new album is Pure Pop Valhalla...

By the CD at Virgin, don't unwrap it, show receipt to staff at signing, have your already owned CD signed, then return CD bought at Virgin the next day.
