Brian Chase bands, new Yeah Yeah Yeah, remix, & review
YYY (cred)

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' drummer Brian Chase wrote in their message board, "christy and emily is a duo i play with every now and then. i'm not their regular drummer and i've only performed live with them once. their great, though, and you should check them out. they've got amazing songs.
i do play around new york, semi-frequently, mostly in brooklyn with a good mix of improv/rock/jazz/classical/experimental musicians. my next gig is on feb. 4th (past) at the backroom in a bar in williamsburg called union pool. i'll actually be playing tabla on one song with one of the most ass-kickin' bands around right now, oakley hall. oakley hall is opening up for yyys the second of the two bowery shows.
my next gig after that will most likely be on feb. 12th at a place on ludlow st. called cakeshop. if it happens, i'll be performing in a duo with a friend of mine who plays an old school modular synth called the serge. our music is very stagnant and texture based. the other bands that night should be pretty fun. there's a band called 'people' which is one of my local fav's right now and a band that features members from a group called 'Zs' which is another great local band."

And if you didn't know: Yeah Yeah Yeahs now have a fourth member.

And as heard in Diplo's streaming set from the Guggenheim, Central Village has Diplo's Optimo remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Gold Lion. Pitchfork gave it 4.5 stars.
