Cat Power Tour cancelled
Cat Power has cancelled at least three of the shows on her upcoming tour - Town Hall in NYC, NYU (also NYC), and Chicago. I'll post details as I get them.
UPDATE: The whole tour is off. See letter from Matador below...
---
We regret to announce that Cat Power's entire US tour has been canceled due to health reasons. Out of respect for Chan's privacy, we can't give more detailed information, but we hope and assume that you'll respect her privacy during this time as well.
There will be information about refunds available imminently, and the tour will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
Chan is a good friend and a dear member of the Matador family, and when we have news about future performances, we'll be certain to share it with you here.

I hope the 'health reason' is that she's dead.
Zero redeeming qualities.

you don't hope she's dead. come on.

I remember on Subterranean she expressed how nervous she was about the upcoming tour cause she'd be playing huge venues. Maybe she had a sudden burst of stage fright?
Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2006 9:39 PM
I hope it isnt because she chickened out. I would be so disapointed.

it's totally cool that you want her dead. i think you are very wrong and i personally wouldn't wish that on her, but whatever. the point is you're a fucking pussy. grow some balls and identify yourself, you fucking pussy.
(and yes, marcel daddybinger is my real name. you got a problem with that you fucking pussy?)

from Pitchfork:
"As of right now, all of Marshall's February and March American dates, including her performance at the Matador SXSW showcase, are off. However, Cat Power shows in London and Paris in March, as well as appearances at Coachella in April and Bonnaroo in June, are still tentatively scheduled."

Here we go again. Atleast this time she didn't start a show, sing the first verse of a song, and run off the stage.
