club Scenic closing "for renovations"

As you may have read in Tricia Romano's controversial Voice article, club Scenic on Avenue B in NYC is closing "for renovations".

"I'm not aware whatsoever of canceling any kind of party because any kind of gay issue," she says. Schwartzkopf was unable or unwilling to confirm many details, including who was staying with the company, redesign plans, or the type of food they will start serving. She did say, "Scenic opened under the front of being about live rock."

I think this is the last weekend for Hot Pink and Rated X (at Scenic at least), and though Scenic's website doesn't say a thing about closing, it doesn't have any shows/events listed after February 25th.

Rumor has it that there are too many venues in NYC and that this one sucked.
