Gang of Four's Karate Kid song | 'Desire' MP3
Stereogum brought up a good point: Gang of Four has a song on the Karate Kid soundtrack. As far as I can tell, Desire was never released anywhere else.
"Are the post-punk godfathers trying to cover up their participation in this great '80s movie's shitty soundtrack??? Do any of YOU have this tune???" [Stereogum]

It's not that they're trying to cover it up. It's that by that point they were almost broken up and both Dave Allen and Hugo Burnham had left. Their last album (before the 1st of 3 reunions, including the current one with their original lineup), 1983's Hard, was simply awful and unlistenable.
Anyhow, I had no idea that they had a song on the Karate Kid soundtrack. Thanks for this.

Agreed it's not a cover-up. What band puts their lamest song on a compilation? It really wouldn't be a best of, then, would it. A lot of people did a lot of things in the '80s they'd like to forget.
