mc - I meant it sarcastically....my fav band - all time - is phish. Usually uber indies diss on anything jambands (i.e.- Pitchfork doing a 'best of "Brothers" bands' list and leaving off the Allmans) In the words of Steve Martin in 'My Blue Heaven': "I'm whichu"

i hate how all of the hipsters dismiss phish as sucky hippie music. phish was (and hopefully will be again) a great band with some amazing music that took risks. you certainly won't see any indie bands garner the kind of following that could bring 80,000 people to one of the remotest parts of the country.
that being said, most of the jambands that are currently out there are horrible and i'm very happy that bonnaroo realized that this year.

I was one of those 80,000 and trust me, it was the greatest concert I have ever attended.
Benevento/Russo Duo are outstanding.

Tea Leaf Green is the jam band on the scene to see in my opinion. They'll be down at the Knit post-Allmans next month. I'll be racing down from the Beacon.
