Help me find a place to stay at SXSW
I want to go to SXSW (March 15-19), but procrastinated, and it now appears almost impossible to get a room in Austin. Do you work at a hotel in Austin, or a hotel chain that has a place in Austin? Do you know someone renting an apartment or house? Do you have any tips? Any help? e-mail me. Thanks!!

have you tried a hotel called the Hotel San Jose. I don't know if it is listed under the hotels SXSW has on their site, but it is were I always stay when i go to austin. its right on south congress and is a great place to just relax.

The Hotel San Jose sells out for SXSW far, far in advance, by the way.
You have to call sometime in November to get on the request list, and they call people on January 1 if they got in. It's a little absurd.

Is there anywhere online where people coordinate sharing a car ride (I know it sounds a bit far, but still . . .) to SXSW? I found nothing in the craigslist rideshare section.

which redroof in? I made my flight reservation on Jan 20th and haven't been able to find a hotel room..well I didn't really look beyond the downtown area and of course being broke doesn't really help either...ehh right now I'm looking at austin.craigslist.org but they are more expensive than most hotel rooms....some empty space on the floor anyone?
