Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins started the show at the Angel Orensanz Foundation building last night (Feb 5, 2006) by walking through the aisle that separated the two sides of folding chairs set up in the old temple. The ended the show the same way. I thought It was fitting that the only people in NYC not worshipping sports, were watching music in a religious setting.
Though Conor Oberst joined opener (could of been headliner) M Ward, he unfortunately never joined Jenny on stage. M. Ward didn't sing with her either, though he did play guitar for one song during the encore. Fiery Furnaces' Eleanor Friedberger was spotted in the audience. Great show all around.

I spotted Craig Wedren in the balcony last night as well. Unfortunately, we missed M Ward's set, but got there just in time for Jenny Lewis and her set was great, though the Watson Twins were kind of creepy with their synchronized movements. The venue is incredible structurally and visually and the sound was pristine. However, I'm also disappointed that Conor and M.Ward didn't join her for "Handle with Care", though I guess they couldn't do it because Ben Gibbard wasn't there.
