new Velvet Underground DVD | Win one
"This first-ever DVD from the seminal band features sizzling performances from the quartet's European reunion tour. Filmed live at the Paris Olympia on June 15, 16, and 17, 1993, Live MCMXCIII captures the original lineup—Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison, and Moe Tucker—on extended versions of VU classics like 'Femme Fatale', 'Pale Blue Eyes,' and 'Heroin,' and on more obscure fare like 'Hey Mr. Rain' and 'I'm Sticking With You' (both of which remained unreleased for years after the band's breakup), plus the then-newly written 'Coyote.'[85 MIN]"

Nice to see this come out--and surprising after all these years. I seem to remember people were unnecessarily harsh in their reviews of the original CD release. It's not top-form VU by any means, but it has its charms. I still throw on the old CD copy every now and then. I like the slightly cheesy (audience claps along!) but pleasingly chuggy-hammery rendition of Heroin, and the marvellously clinically depressed version of Pale Blue Eyes.
